PM to ask Trump for steel tariff exemption, ABC Radio PM, 10 February 2025.
The Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has scheduled a call with US President Donald Trump to make the case that Australia should be exempt from US tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.
President Trump is to announce 25 per cent tariffs on those metals from all exporting countries.
Australia sends about a billion dollars worth of steel and aluminium to the US every year.
